Recognized for innovation in teaching, activity-based learning, environmental conservation, girls’ education and educational support for migrant children
Jitendra Giri Goswami, Assistant Teacher (Science) at Government Primary School Bansaurkuli, has been honored with the District-Level Best Teacher Award 2026 for his innovative and notable contributions in the field of education.
The 16th District-Level Teacher Felicitation Ceremony was held on September 12, 2026, at Sadbhavana Bhawan, Jaijaipur. He was honored in the presence of Chief Guest Umashankar Banjare, Principal, Government College Jaijaipur; President Basant Chaturvedi, Block Education Officer, Bamhniidih; Organizer Keshav Prasad Chandra, former MLA, Jaijaipur; and Special Guests J.P. Pushp, Retired Deputy Director, DIET Pendra, and Suman Jaiswal, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Rajnandgaon.
Goswami promotes innovative teaching through “Best Out of Waste” TLM development, learning through play, activity-based learning, ICT and “Angna Mein Shiksha.” Special emphasis is placed on bringing migrant children back into the mainstream of education and promoting girls’ education. Sports, the Bal Cabinet and creative activities are also encouraged for the holistic development of students.
His environmental initiatives include the Eco Club, Plastic-Free School, “One Tree in Mother’s Name” and “One Pot for the Martyrs” campaigns. He has also undertaken initiatives such as the distribution of free notebooks, pencils and tie-belts to support and encourage students. Alongside teaching, he has a keen interest in literature and uses his writing to spread awareness about environmental conservation and girls’ education.
The honor recognizes his commitment to innovative education, student-centered learning, environmental responsibility and meaningful social engagement, reflecting how a dedicated teacher can create positive change both inside and beyond the classroom.
